I had the pleasure of sitting down with Ermiya Fanaeian (she/her) to discuss her experiences with diversity and inclusion programs and predominately white institutions (PWIs) as a trans woman of color, “activism” as a trend, mutual aid, and other leftist praxis—especially as it applies to life during COVID, and what moved her from her teen start in local activism from gun control to her starting a Pink Pistols (a group dedicated to teaching self-defense and gun education to LGBTQ+ people) chapter in her own city.)
